Description
The nature of things is Dharam. Nature of fire is to -burn- burn other things and to rise: That is its Dharam! Nature of water is to – be cool—keep other things cool and to lie low: That is its Dharam! Nature of wind is to move – roam – go here and there: That is its Dharam! Likewise does the Soul have Dharma? The learned says, yes! To annihilate all the Karma- reach the pinnacle; Moksh and then to dwell there always by establishing the self in the soul is the Dharam of the soul! The body that possesses the soul is engaged in eating- drinking- ….and engages in all the worldly matters; that too is not the true nature of the soul, nor its Dharam. Body is an obsession. Obsession leads to destruction only, that is not its nature. True Nature of the body is only when it is free of the obsessions. Same holds true for the soul. The activities that the soul is encompassed in the body engages in ,is not its nature. Similarly, the activities that the soul engages to liberate itself from the bondages of the body is in true perspective the real nature of the soul, Dharam of the Soul. Atma Dharam of this kind is discussed in this book. How do we perform this AtamDharam? The learned are showing the solutions:To avoid activities that brings sorrow to others…we need to discard the activities of Hinsa…For that we need to develop the feelings of friendship….For that we need to engage in service of mankind….For that we need to serve true learned scholar…. For that we need to discard the affection for the body and develop affection for the soul…For that one needs to steer away from Vishay. Pujyapad Pravachankarshriji, at Shri Mahavir Jain Vidyalaya Hall in Mumbai with the assistance of writings from Shastra. has explained this philosophy in a novel manner so that the preached philosophy seeps in the heart of the audience easily. The book Athhaseema ‘Atamdharam’ was presented on 2-8-1929 Friday
